Working Women....

The diligent worker images her Creator by actively working with all her might to subdue her portion of earth. She recognizes that work is an important and dignified part of representing the image of God. She seeks to be skillful and diligent, making the most of what she has however small or great it is. It is her joy to keep busy, making a home for her family that is neat, orderly and sufficient to the needs of all who depend on her. Her home is her foremost priority. The cheerful countenances and neat dress of her husband and children evidence this priority and are a testimony to others that there is a pleasant keeper of their home. Her work ethic reflects her heart which is fervent in spirit, serving the Lord and thus rich in faith and good works.

The lazy worker is such a slave to her sinful nature that instead of imaging her Creator she must receive instruction from one of the smallest of insects—the ant! She is careless and unfaithful in her jobs and often resorts to fraud or trickery to gain deceitfully what she refuses to earn by hard work. She spends her energy in worthless pursuits and vanities and is quick to find the company of other idle companions who practice the same corrupt ways of getting and spending all that they can. By living beyond her means, spending more that she has, throwing away what she has and being utterly wasteful, she forfeits not only her reputation, but also invites God’s judgement. Her prodigal attitude will cause her to give an uncomfortable account to God for the talents she has wasted.
Does my work ethic display God's glory?

  1. so, if I leave the Mr. Clean bottle open on the cupboard to give the room the good clean "smell" of hard work, it doesn't count?

  2. "It is her joy to keep busy"

I'm again reminded of the importance of using my time wisely and efficiently, and also being joyful during busy times!
