A Sip of Encouragement

One finds spiritual encouragement in all kinds of ways; this insightful challenge came in a conversation last night at prayer meeting, as we gathered in small groups to pray.

(It was just a quick word, like a small sip on a hot day which wets the lips and refreshes your thirst. And it gives me another example of why putting yourself in the place to be encouraged brings dividends in all kinds of unplanned, unexpected ways....which is why I don't like to miss being w/other believers! Not because I have to, but because I so need & want what God might give me there! But I digress...)

One woman shared that on the radio that day she’d heard an especially insightful quotation, which gave her reason to pause and reflect.
After hearing it, I agreed and it gave me opportunity to be think through my own life, both with rebuke & encouragement.

The quote?

One knows she is a true servant, when she doesn’t mind being treated like one.” ~David Jeremiah

Ouch.
I’m not there yet.

But, God is still at work and I’m encouraged that, because of His grace & the Holy Spirit's work, my heart and life is headed in that direction!

What about you?
Take a drink?
